Here’s a little information about Kyoto that helps you see the floating flowers.
Yokokuji Temple
We’ve posted the article about this temple before. Yokokuji Temple is the best-known temple for floating flowers in the basin. You must take pictures of the flowers there if you stand in front of the basin. It’s so fabulous and fascinating.
The best season is early summer and fall but the temple decorates the basin with seasonal flowers beautifully in daily time.

Take the Hankyu Line and get off at Nagaokatenjin Station.
Take the Hankyu Line and get off at Nishiyamatennozan Station.
Take the JR Line and get off at Nagaokakyo Station.

It takes about 60 minutes on foot from the station.
It takes about 10~15 minutes by taxi from the station. (1400 yen/one way)
Shorinji Temple
If you plan to go to Fushimiinari Taisha Shrine, why don’t you stand by this temple?
Shorinji Temple offers a Zazen meditation and floating flowers in the basin.
The temple is small and cozy so you can usually see the flowers on specific days.
This year you can see them even on weekdays for now.

Reikanji Temple
Reikanji Temple is open only on specific days in spring and fall. This year, it opens to hold the exhibition of treasures from January 1 to March 8. You can see the floating flowers as well in this event week. If you can’t visit there during the exhibition week, the next one is held from March 20 to April 5.
The temple doesn’t have own website though, it posts pictures on Instagram.
