By the way, why the entertainment is called “Kaomise(顔見世)”?

Kabuki actors in the Edo period had contracts for one year from the lunar calendar November to October of the following year.

Therefore, at the beginning of November every year, all actors of next year came up to the stage, and gived greetings to customers.
That is the beginning of “Kaomise”.

A lot of stilts (Takeuma) that sent to Kabuki actors from each supporter are displayed in the lobby.
Looking at stilts (Takeuma) you can know each supporter’s favorate actors.
These stilts (Takeuma) can only be seen at Kaomise in Minamiza.
