It’s warm weather, not too hot and not too cold, so spring is the best season to visit  sightseeing area.
This time we would like to introduce sightseeing by bicycle in Miyazu City.

There is a bicycle lane in Amanohashidate, that is unusual even across the country because
you enjoy cycling along the coast.
It is easy for beginners to go around Amanohashidate by bicycle, for the bicycle lane is a smooth road.
Amanohashidate is beautiful not only when you view it in the distance, but also when you are there.
It is about 70 minutes to go for a walk in Amanohashidate, for the entire length of Amanohashidate is 3.6 kilometers.
It is about 20 minutes by bicycle.
Threre are cycle rental shops near Amanohashidate.

Chion-ji Temple


Chion-ji temple located in Amanohashidate, one of the three most scenic spots in Japan, is also called “Monju-do”, and it enshrines a Bodhisattva that controls wisdom called ‘Monjubosatsu’.
“Monju” means “Monjubosatsu”, a Bodhisattva that controls wisdom, and it is known as one of the three Monjubosatsu of Japan.
It is the famous temple where wa are given wisdom, so many examinees and their family visit Chion-ji Temple.

Amanohashidate Rotating Bridge (Kaisenkyo)


Amanohashidate Rotating Bridge is the bridge connecting the land where Chion-ji Temple is located and Amanohashidate.
It is a rare movable bridge, so it is the one of photo spots in Amanohashidate.

Amanohashidate Shrine


The shrine is tucked away in Amanohashidate, and it is a famous spot of the success of love.
Eight great dragon kings are enshrined in Amanohashidate Shrine.
There is “Isoshimizu” chosen as one of the Select Best Waters of Japan near the shrine.
Isoshimizu is a mysterious well of pure water even though it is bounded by water on every side.
The water is used for washing or moistening your hands.

Akiko Yosano was a famous kajin (waka poet).
She and her husband repeatedly visited Amanohashidate, and she wrote many poems.
Many writers and artists visited Amanohashidate where the gods lived from old times, and a lot of haiku and tanka were written by them.

■The Scene of Revenge of Jyutaro Iwami■
Jyutaro Iwami was a famous swordsman, and he killed three people to avenge his father in Amanohashidate.
There are the stone that he tested the sharpness of his sword before he took revenge.
