vol.123:Heian Jingu Shrine Free Public Release 2020

Heian Jingu Shrine, which was built to commemorate the 1100th anniversary of the Heian capital, has become an indispensable spot for sightseeing in Kyoto. The Daikyokuden hall and Otenmon gate, which played an important role in Heiankyo, are reproduced on a 5/8 scale, and even though it is a replica, it is a nostalgic enough.
The 24m high Otorii gate south of Otenmon is also one of the major photography spots for tourists.

Heian Shrine has a quiet Japanese garden called Shinen. With thanks for the respect of Kyoto citizens and others, they are offering free publication twice a year in early June and September 19. This year, due to the influence of COVID-19, the postponement was delayed from Wednesday, October 21, 2020, to Friday, October 23.

The video was shot in September last year, but please enjoy the atmosphere just ahead.
October is a little early for the fall foliage, but since it’s a holiday season, please enjoy a leisurely garden tour.
