This winter is predicted to have as much snow as usual to a little more than usual, and it looks like it will be a season with beautiful snowy scenery.
We would like to introduce“Yuki Toro”event held at Miyama Kayabuki no Sato, an event that is loved by many people every year as a winter tradition.

Kyoto Miyama Snow Lantern

Miyama Kayabuki no Sato is located in Miyama-cho, Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture, about an hour and a half by car from Kyoto City, and there are many thatched-roofed houses that have been preserved since the Edo period.
This beautiful village has been designated as a National Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, and still has a tasteful landscape that is called the original landscape of Japan.

“Yukitoro” is a light-up event held at Kayabuki no Sato,and is scheduled to be held from January 25th to February 1st in 2025.
During this period, many lanterns and lights are set up in the village, creating a fantastical world different from the one seen during the day.
It has become a special winter memory for many tourists and camera enthusiasts.
Another attraction is the warm hospitality of the locals.
Amazake and local cuisine will be served. It will gently warm your cold body, and at the same time, you can experience the food culture unique to Miyama.
A fireworks display is also scheduled for January 29th, and the sparkling fireworks against the clear winter night sky will create a special moment.
