Kyoto is hot and humid in summer and cold in winter.
This summer had been hot days more than usual summer. A season that is easy to spend finally came, and the walking outside became pleasant.

Just this season, from the end of September to October, a lot of festivals are held in Kyoto.

The following festivals will be held next week.
How about you like to go see a festival of interest?

Gokonomiya Shinko festival

It is a famous event to visit the shrine for worship with flower umbrellas from each town.
It is said that the flower umbrella tradition of the Muromachi era(from around the 14th century until the 16th century) is now conveyed to the “Hanagasa festival”.

The photo is the main shrine in Kitano Tenmangu.

Kitano Tenmangu is famous for plums.
And remnants of the “Odoi,” an earthen mount of fortification built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi encircling Kyoto, can be seen here as well.
Even if you can not sightsee at the timing of the festival, during the season of the red maple trees, there is the Momiji-en (autumn maple garden) where you can see 350 maple trees.
“Odoi”and autumn leaves are also good points.
Momiji-en will be opened from late October to early December.
