Gokonomiya Shrine
The year of its foundation is unknown, but it was named “Gokonomiya” because the water with good “scent” sprang up during the Heian period. It has been certified as one of the “100 Famous Waters in Japan” and is also famous as a power spot. The main deity is the god of easy delivery, Empress Jingu, and worshipers are constantly visiting. It is closely related to the battle of Toyotomi shogunate and Fushimi Toba at the end of the Tokugawa shogunate, and the stones of Fushimi Castle are used for some of the stone walls in the precincts, so you can see what happened at that time. In addition, it is a historic shrine with many attractions such as the Momoyama style colorful architecture, the stone garden of Kobori Enshu, and the remains of Fushimi Castle.
