{"id":4688,"date":"2023-06-01T20:00:29","date_gmt":"2023-06-01T11:00:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kyonaka-gozan.kyoto\/koi\/?p=4688"},"modified":"2023-06-07T14:33:13","modified_gmt":"2023-06-07T05:33:13","slug":"vol-170","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kyonaka-gozan.kyoto\/koi\/en\/local\/vol-170\/","title":{"rendered":"Vol.170\uff1aSummer purification rites(held at shrines on the last day of the 6th lunar month) in Kyoto"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We wish the rainy season would end soon.<br \/>\nDo you know &#8220;Nagoshi no Oharae&#8221; held at shrines on June 30?<br \/>\nNagoshi no Oharae is an event to remove committed sins and stains and to pray for good health.<br \/>\nA hoop, made of kaya grass [plants of the sedge family],called &#8220;Chi no wa&#8221; is arrenged in shrines in Kyoto during the event.<br \/>\nLet us briefly explain about &#8220;Nagoshi no Oharae&#8221;.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4a\">Chinowa (a hoop made of kaya grass)<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/kyonaka-gozan.kyoto\/media\/koi\/sites\/10\/20230601_1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"665\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4677\" \/><br \/>\nA large hoop made of kaya grass is arrenged near a torii and at a shrine precinct.<br \/>\nIf you pass through the hoop, you may remove committed sins and stains and purify your mind and body.<\/p>\n<p>We will show The method of chinowa-kuguri in the following.<br \/>\n(1)After bowing\u3001pass through the hoop and turn left<br \/>\n(2)After bowing\u3001pass through the hoop and turn right<br \/>\n(3)After bowing\u3001pass through the hoop and turn left<br \/>\n(4)After bowing\u3001pass through the hoop and  worship at a shrine<br \/>\nThe method of chinowa-kuguri is dependent on shrines, so if you try it, you follow the method.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4a\">The Japanese confectionery called &#8220;Minazuki&#8221;<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/kyonaka-gozan.kyoto\/media\/koi\/sites\/10\/20230601_2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-4681\" \/><br \/>\nIn Kyoto, there is a habit of eating the Japanese confectionery called &#8216;Minazuki&#8217; in the Nagoshi no harae.<br \/>\nMinazuki is a confectionery prepared by placing azuki beans on Uiro (a sort of sweetened steamed cake made of rice powder) and then cutting it into triangular shapes.<br \/>\nIt is said that azuki beans on Minazuki have the meaning of warding off evil spirits.<br \/>\nYou can buy it at Japanese confectionery shops in Kyoto in June.<br \/>\nIf you visit Kyoto in June, please eat Minazuki with praying for state of perfect health.<\/p>\n<p>We don&#8217;t feel like going out when it rains a lot during the rainy season,but you can enjoy fresh green leaves in the rain.<br \/>\nThe tourist spot in Kyoto has been less crowded during the rainy season, so you can stroll leisurely around Kyoto.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"We wish the rainy season would end soon.
