{"id":2764,"date":"2019-09-12T14:27:49","date_gmt":"2019-09-12T05:27:49","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kyonaka-gozan.kyoto\/koi\/?p=2764"},"modified":"2019-09-12T14:28:07","modified_gmt":"2019-09-12T05:28:07","slug":"vol-72","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kyonaka-gozan.kyoto\/koi\/en\/event\/vol-72\/","title":{"rendered":"vol.72:Full Moon Viewing Festival in Kyoto -September Event-"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tsukimi (\u6708\u898b) or Otsukimi (\u304a\u6708\u898b), literally meaning, &#8220;moon-viewing&#8221;, also known as Jugoya (\u5341\u4e94\u591c), are Japanese festivals honoring the autumn moon, a variant of the Mid-Autumn Festival.<\/p>\n<p>The weather forecast said it is clear night on September 13th, the date of the full moon viewing.<br \/>\nSo you can enjoy viewing on the traditional day in Kyoto.<br \/>\nSince ancient times, Japanese people have described the moon over the clouds as the non moon (\u7121\u6708), and the moon on the rainy day as the rainy moon (\u96e8\u6708).<br \/>\nIt means people enjoy any situation as it is even if it seems a bad condition.<\/p>\n<p>Tsukimi traditions include displaying decorations made from Japanese pampas grass (susuki) and eating rice dumplings called Tsukimi dango in order to celebrate the beauty of the moon.<br \/>\nSeasonal produce are also displayed as offerings to the moon.<\/p>\n<p>Many temples and shrines in Kyoto hold the full moon viewing on September 13th.<br \/>\nThis time, we share some with you.<\/p>\n<h5 class=\"style5b\">West side of Kyoto City<\/h5>\n<h4 class=\"style4a\">Daikakuji Temple;
