\nHikari no Festival (Illumination Festival) is held by teamLab and it is with the concept of “delivering Japanese beauty and culture to the world”.<\/p>\n
teamLab, a collective, interdisciplinary creative group, presents Digitized Nature art project at Shimogamo Shrine from August 17th to September 2nd.
\nVisitors had entrance regulation to the event due to the crowds on the first day.<\/p>\n
This is the third time that Shimogamo Shrine and teamLab has corroborated.
\nThe number of visitors has got higher and higher every year.
\nSo this time, we\u2019re going to tell you about this illuminate event.<\/p>\n

People usually enjoy artworks by just watching especially in Japan. They must not take some picture and reach their hands to the artwork.
\nteamLab\u2019s artwork is interactive one so observers or spectators become a part of art by watching, touching or taking a picture.<\/p>\n

The artwork is created by a computer program that continuously renders the work in real time along the Izumigawa River as it flows through Tadasu Forest.<\/p>\n

Spheres of light float in the space within the Sakura Gate of Shimogamo Shrine. They move on their own, shining brightly, then disappearing\u2014as if they are softly breathing. <\/p>\n
When the spheres of light are touched by a person or receive an impact, the color of their light changes, and they emit a musical tone unique to their new color. <\/p>\n

The artworks, placed in the Tadasu Forest of the Shimogamo Shrine World Heritage site, shine brightly together with the trees of the forest.
\nThe light of them are autonomous: they shine brightly and then fade slowly, as if breathing.<\/p>\n
