{"id":2627,"date":"2019-08-01T17:03:42","date_gmt":"2019-08-01T08:03:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kyonaka-gozan.kyoto\/koi\/?p=2627"},"modified":"2019-08-08T10:42:24","modified_gmt":"2019-08-08T01:42:24","slug":"vol-66","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kyonaka-gozan.kyoto\/koi\/en\/event\/vol-66\/","title":{"rendered":"vol.66:Kyo no Tanabata, Star Festival in Kyoto 2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Kyo no Tanabata is a Star Festival held at Kyoto in August.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s quite hot and humid during the daytime in summer, so Kyoto would like to offer some activities or events at night like illumination for tourists.<\/p>\n<p>The venues in the city are separated for four areas and they will be held an illumination event and vendors for food.<\/p>\n<h5 class=\"style5b\">Horikawa Area<\/h5>\n<h4 class=\"style4a\">Nijo Castle<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/kyonaka-gozan.kyoto\/media\/koi\/sites\/10\/20190731-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"567\" height=\"376\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2617\" \/><br \/>\nAt Nijo Castle, Ninomaru garden will be lit up and gorgeous Kara-mon gate will be also put on the illumination.<br \/>\nThe main feature event will be a projection mapping show on the gate and walls.<br \/>\nYou can enjoy Maiko Chaya that Maiko will dance a traditional dance.<br \/>\nThe event won\u2019t be crowded as Gion Matsuri.<\/p>\n<p>Date: August 1st ~15th<br \/>\nLight Up Time: 19:00~21:30 (Last Entr\u00e9e 21:00)<br \/>\nVenue: Nijo Castle; 541, Nijo-jo cho, Nakagyo ku, Kyoto<br \/>\nAdmission Fee: 600 yen per adult, 350 yen per 13~18 years old, 200 yen per elementary school students<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"style4a\">Horikawa Walkway<\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/kyonaka-gozan.kyoto\/media\/koi\/sites\/10\/20190731-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"567\" height=\"425\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2618\" \/><br \/>\nBon fire will be lighting along the Horikawa walkway decorated with bamboos and lights as Tanabata.<br \/>\nBamboo and Lights walkway makes it seem as if you\u2019re passing beneath a sparkling path of stars.<br \/>\nMany events held by a municipal corporation and univercities line the street.<br \/>\nIt\u2019s a good opportunity to wear a yukata and stroll Kyoto.<\/p>\n<p>Date: August 10th ~12th<br \/>\nLight Up Time: 18:00~21:00<br \/>\nVenue: Horikawa Walkway; Shimotashiuri Street ~ Ichijo modoribashi Bridge \uff08\u4e0b\u7acb\u58f2\u901a\uff5e\u4e00\u6761\u623b\u6a4b\u4ed8\u8fd1\uff09<br \/>\n*The walkway is a one-way road during the event.<\/p>\n<h5 class=\"style5b\">Kamogawa Area<\/h5>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/kyonaka-gozan.kyoto\/media\/koi\/sites\/10\/20190731-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"567\" height=\"378\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2619\" \/><br \/>\nCleverly woven bamboo spheres illuminated from within sit glowing in the grass by the Kamogawa River.<br \/>\nFood stalls line the riverside, offering domestic featured food.<br \/>\nYou can enjoy it while walking along the river.<\/p>\n<p>Date: August 3rd ~4th<br \/>\nLight Up Time: 19:00~21:30 (21:00 on 4th)<br \/>\nVenue: Kamogawa River <\/p>\n<h5 class=\"style5b\">Kitano Kamiyagawa Area<\/h5>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/kyonaka-gozan.kyoto\/media\/koi\/sites\/10\/20190731-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"567\" height=\"481\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2620\" \/><br \/>\nKitano Tenmangu Shrine will be decorated with tanabata bamboo and lights.<br \/>\nMitarashigawa Ashitsuke Tomyo Shinji, Foot Bathing and a votive light ritual, is a feature event.
